HHVC

Helping Hands of Venango County, a partnership of St. John’s Church in Franklin and Venango Co. Mental Health and Developmental Services, begins a third season of re-visioning and re-claiming the word “mission,” offering local mission opportunities for experiencing transformational ministry.

HHVC serves to create awareness of systemic poverty in the Appalachian region of Northwestern Pennsylvania. Teens and adults are offered the opportunity to study generational poverty while working side by side with community residents and business leaders to improve the living conditions of local residents.

HHVC is intentionally a faith and community based ministry. We impress upon the adult volunteers in our own community the importance of providing exemplary Christian presence in forming, informing, and reforming the way we work together inter-generationally. We teach that those with spiritual gifts for local mission work should till the crops in the part of the Kingdom of God in which their feet find a pathway.
