Ash Wednesday and Lent

Ash Wednesday is the Church's day to remember our mortality. Ash Wednesday starts the forty day season of Lent. This year, Ash Wednesday is February 26th. We will observe the day with services at 7 am, 12 noon, and 7 pm. St. John's and Grace also offers Ashes to Go at Sander's Market on Buffalo Street and Bossa Nova Coffee Shop on Liberty Street in Franklin.

For our Lenten Season,

We will be gathering together on Wednesday nights at 6 pm

for an hour of prayer, a soup supper, and a discussion.

The theme this year is:

Lent is Not Rocket Science

The books for the study will be available in the Church Parish Hall.

We are also offering a limited number of Lent Madness booklets

and all are welcome to fill out a bracket

and compare with Deacon Dave, Pastor Judy, and Mother Elizabeth.

Holy Week

Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter designated by the Church for the remembrance of the stories of Jesus' betrayal, trial, death, and resurrection. The story is most fully told in the attendance of services on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Great Easter Vigil.

At St. John's and Grace we will be offering a full week of services and participation in some local cross-denominational efforts. Check back here soon for the schedule of events!

We welcome the Resurrection of Jesus with the wonderful services of Easter.

We start the celebration with the Great Vigil of Easter on Saturday night at 8 pm and then continue with services on Easter Sunday at 8 am and 10 am. After the 10 am service, the children participate in the Easter Egg Hunt on the church lawn. We hope you will join us in hearing the story of salvation!
