Taize Tuesday

The first Tuesday of every month is Taize Tuesday. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a cook-out during spring and summer and a shared meal inside during fall and winter.

At 7:30 p.m. we begin an outdoor Taize service. The Taizé Community is an ecumenical monastic order in Taizé, Saône-et-Loire, Burgundy, France. It is composed of about one hundred brothers, from Protestant and Catholic traditions, who originate from thirty countries across the world. The monastic order has a strong devotion to peace and justice through prayer and meditation. It was founded in 1940 by Brother Roger Schutz, a Protestant.

This service is candle-lit and contemplative in nature. Traditionally Taize includes proclamation of Holy Scripture and meditative chanting. Please join us in our garden. All are welcome. Take a listen to a beautiful example of what Taize chant is all about.
